Point épidémiologique en Afrique de l’Ouest 27/10/2014 – INVS

Points saillants

Au total, 10 115 cas (suspects, probables et confirmés) et 4 913 décès (létalité 48,6%) ont été rapportés par l’OMS dans 4 pays d’Afrique de l’Ouest (Guinée, Libéria, Sierra-Léone et Mali).

 

Le premier cas à virus Ebola a été rapporté au Mali par les autorités sanitaires le 24 octobre 2014. Il s’agit d’une fillette de 2 ans en provenance de Guinée, décédée le 25/10/2014.

 

Depuis la dernière parution du Point Epidémiologique, la Sierra-Léone rapporte 486 nouveaux cas, le Libéria 403 et la Guinée 34 nouveaux cas.

 

La transmission reste intense dans les capitales des 3 pays touchés ; le nombre de cas rapportés dans la capitale Monrovia (Libéria) continue d’être probablement sous-estimée.

 

Rappel : L’OMS a officiellement déclaré les 17 et 19 octobre 2014 la fin de l’épidémie au Sénégal et au Nigéria.
